Tooth replacement is a highly requested dental procedure at Ray McKinley DDS & Brittany McKinley-Holloway DDS — McKinley General, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry in Shelby Township. When our patients ask about about it, we usually tell them about fixed (or traditional) dental bridges and state-of-the-art implants.
A dental bridge is an artificial tooth. The false tooth is fused to porcelain crowns that go on each side of the missing tooth, to “bridge” the gap.
Dental implants are also popular and can often be a better choice. A dental implant includes a titanium post inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post fuses with the bone to provide a solid foundation for a replacement tooth.
Both of these remedies permit you to talk and eat normally, and prevent neighboring teeth from shifting.
